LAHTI~HELSINKI~STOCKHOLM

The last few days have been absolutely amazing, I have travelled to Lahti to see Georgia and watch my host rother play in an ice-hockey match. I have travelled to Helsinki where I walked all around Helsinki taking in the city in all it's glory and the best part of all was when I travelled with my host family to STOCKHOLM SWEDEN!!! We had to go on a cruise ship and that was the first time I had been on one, so I was just soo excited. Our ship left at 5:30 on Saturday evening and arrived in Stockholm at about 10am. That night we just hung out on the ship and ate candy!! On Sunday we spent the whole day in Stockholm walking around teh old and new town. The old town is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen as the building were so old and told so much about Sweden's history! We all shopped and shopped and I found some amazing things I was very happy. That night our boat back to Helsinki was at 4:45pm and arrived in Helsinki at 10am. That nigt we ate dinner in a lovely restaurant on the boat, Kikka and I had a few drinks at the pub and for some completely unknown reason we sang at the karoke, although we were terrible it was so much fun!! I have absolutely loved the last few days and I am so so happy to be here!!! :)

PACK PACK PACKING SWEDEN HERE I COME!!!!

yay yay yay, it's friday friday friday!! :) The week has ended well finishing school at 2:30. Tonight has been pretty relaxed as has the day, except for this morning because I woke up at 7:30 and started school at 8 so i was definately in a hurry to get ready this morning. However, other than this my day went perfectly smooth. Tonight has been great i have been packing for my trip to SWEDEN with my lovely sister Rebecca! I am so EXCITED! I must say I am already getting good at packing, imagine what I will be like at the end of the year! I can't wait for Sweden I have never been out of Australia before and now all of a sudden i'm going to Finland and Sweden! OMG i'm so lucky. I also now have a whole week off school for the sport's holiday. It's so cool, I think we should have one in Australia!

NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE FROM YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING IN COMMON!

hei so today i had my first official rotary event/thing. It was the first outbound briefing so all us inbounds went down to introduce ourselves to the outbounds. Then us inbounds got to go and just chill and learn more about eachother as it was the first time i'd met most of them. They are all so nice. Cindy ended up back at my house for a little while, so we just talked and got to know eachother. Other than that I just had normal school! Today in Vaasa a lot of snow had melted on the side walks and it was sad because although I know the finns want winter to end, I don't i just got here so I hope it sticks around for a bit longer. I LOVE snow!!

CELEBRATE CELEBRATE CELEBRATE NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE!

hei hei, so today was good. It was the first time that I caught the bus to and from school in one day and all went fine. Nobody tried to kill me lol and I didn't miss either bus. So it is safe to say it was a success. Today was my girl Susanna 17th birthday. So congratulations and a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY or in finnish Hyvää Syntymäpäivää to her, I hope she had a wonderful day. Now being the great friend I am, I bought her the world's greatest present a spongebob balloon of course and a cupcake as well as some little aussie koalas!! :) It was funny to see her walking around school today with spongebob, but it was fun at the same time. Other than that I have just had a regular day at school except for an extra english class, which meant I finished at 4 not 2:45 :( but i will survive. As i was walking to the bus home today it was snowing on me and all around me, it was definately the prettiest thing I have seen!

FROM SOUTH TO NORTH ALL IN A DAY'S WALK!

Well today was my annoyingly long day as I had school from 8am-4pm! :( I really don't like Tuesdays! Although the food at lunch was really good today because it was 'pancake' day so I had a pea soup kind of thing and this pulla with jam and cream in the middle these are traditional foods eaten on the 21st of January in Finland to celebrate 'pancake' day. Today I laughed so much, it was great, I am so happy to be here and so grateful to everyone who helped me get here and all my new friends at school. They are amazing and some of the nicest people I have ever met. They make me laugh so much!
Only 5 days to go until I go to Sweden, I'm so excited, and on saturday i get to see my gorgeous girl georgia, who I haven't seen in ages! So excited.  Also today my gorgeous baby sister turned 2 months! I miss her so much and when i go back she is going to be huge!
 I just love it here in Finland coming here has been the best decsion I have ever made!! :)

SLEEP IN MONDAY!

Ok day two in the blogosphere. Today hasn't been that interesting or exciting just another monday at school and only 4 days till the weekend, which I am so excited about because i am going to.........SWEDEN!! I am so excited, can't wait! :) Today was a good day for sleep though as I didn't start school until 1:15 and only had two classes. After school I went out and saw some new parts of the gorgeous city I live in, Vaasa!

hei hei this is like my first blog ever, so i have no idea what i am doing, but hey, i'll give it a shot! :) Ok si I have been in Finland for almost a month of my 12 month exchange and it has been the best experience ever!! I am living in vaasa on the west coast of finland.
My first 4 weeks has been amazing, i have met amazing people, been ice-skating, skiing and even went to an ice-hockey match, which was very violent but sooo cool!! Ok so that's all for now
